SHAINA DAVENED RIGHT
Shaina dreaded Yom Tov.
Yom Tov brought unfamiliar texts: Megillah. Hallel. Hoshanas. Eichah.
Pages she'd never practiced, couldn't prepare for, had no way to fake through.
The older she got, the more she felt the gap between her and her peers. They could pick up any siddur, any sefer, and just...read. Shaina couldn't.
By high school, she'd stopped trying. Why expose herself to that feeling of being left behind — again?
Her parents found Chani Karp and the Confident Kriah™ Method.
This time was different. Instead of more practice sheets, more "just try harder" — she learned how Hebrew reading actually worked. The system underneath the symbols. The logic behind the sounds.
The panic when faced with new text began to fade.
That Sukkos, she joined in saying Hoshanas. New words, unfamiliar passages — and she could do it.
Not because she'd memorized them. Not because someone fed her the words.
Because she'd finally learned to read.
